Ormond Beach is an elegant yet relaxed resort town that lies just 15 minutes north of Daytona Beach. Ormond Beach is known as "The Birthplace of Speed" because many land speed records were set here before the races moved to Daytona Beach.
Settled in part by John D. Rockefeller, the winter home of the Rockefeller's, called The Casements, is located in the historic district and is open to the public. The community also offered winter relaxation to other upper class families seeking to spend their winters in this first-class resort style community.
Ormond Beach is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Halifax River on the east with a tributary to the Halifax River running the length of the city. The community offers many water activities as well as a variety of recreational and cultural events.
For the avid golfer, Ormond Beach has at least six options within the 36-square mile city limits including the Rivera Country Club, The Halifax Plantation Golf Club, River Bend Golf Club, and the Tomoka Oaks Golf and Country Club. Another unique feature of the area is the Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail which offers 30 miles through dense forests and saw grass marsh land.
There are many opportunities for religious enlightenment within the community including St. Brendan Catholic Church and the Tomoka Christian Church.
Ormond Beach homes for sale offer mainly single-family homes, but also have townhomes and condos. Vacation rentals are also available as well as land and lots for custom development.
